Bekah's Heart, Joy, Random

A “Full Life” Kind of Day

  1. A “no-alarm” day
  2. Homemade bread for breakfast
  3. New strings on a freshly polished guitar
  4. Memories of the last time I fixed a guitar… and deciding to sing that song, the one I wonder if I’ll ever make it through again without tears
  5. Reflections on how when God puts “new strings” on my heart, they sound so much better than the old ones, even if they do go out of tune a lot at first. (I guess that just means the Master Musician has to stay even closer to keep adjusting me back in tune with His melody of grace.)
  6. The sound of birds chirping outside and sun streaming in the windows (even if it is still below freezing)
  7. It truly being “well with my soul”
  8. Reading back through my blog… recalling God’s faithfulness, re-living God’s provision, remembering God’s love.
  9. Writing songs, writing letters, writing life
  10. Candles lit just because
  11. The smell of onions sautéing with butter and garlic as the start of Broccoli Cheddar Soup
  12. Homemade bread, homemade soup, and a feast of words by Ann Voskamp for lunch.
  13. “Grace—that is what the full life is full of, what the God-glory is full of.  To see the glory, name the graces.  Retune the impaired senses to sense the Spirit, to see the grace.” ~ Ann Voskamp
  14. God’s beautiful provision.
  15. Grace for mistakes
  16. Sharing life with a friend… even if it is a simple 15 minute phone call
  17. Reminders of trust, provision, and God’s beautiful plan revealed in His perfect timing
  18. Staying in pajamas until 3pm
  19. A two-movie afternoon/evening
  20. Aspacebarthat doesn’t wantto work allthetime which causesme to slow    down    while    typing    and    be    more   deliberate   with   each    word.
  21. A “Malaria Monday” Memo from Marsha
  22. Stories of rescue reminding me of the ultimate story of rescue.
  23. A chance to go to bed early.
  24. And this quote I read today which gives more meaning to my list-post today:

“Seeing is of course very much a matter of verbalization.  Unless I call my attention to what passes before my eyes, I simply won’t see it.  It is, as Ruskin says, ‘not merely unnoticed, but in the full, clear sense of the word, unseen.’ … I have to say the words, describe what I’m seeing…. I have to maintain in my head a running description of the present.”  ~ Annie Dillard
