Five-Minute Friday: Deep Breath

Here I am, taking another five minute challenge found here.  Basically the ideas is that you take whatever topic she has for the day and you just start writing, for five minutes, and only five minutes, without editing yourself.   So here I go on the topic for today, “Deep Breath”.

GO:

Deep Breath.

Some days you just have to pause and take a

deep breath.

Like yesterday at the discovery of a suicide rocking a “just normal typical day” at an area school.  Wanting to reach out and share love to those impact… to those that may be on the edge themselves… to anyone and everyone.  The death of someone so young causes us to need to stop and take a

deep breath.

That breath reminds that we don’t do this alone.  For “in Him we live and move and have our being.”  He is our breath of life.  So many things try to take away that life… to keep us breathing old, stale air.   But God wants us to wake up and take in his love…. to fill our lungs and hearts and minds to capacity with his grace and JOY.  Too stop and listen to the birds chirping.  To recognize that somehow we’ve miraculously gone from winter to spring and the grass is green and the skies are blue and today is going to be a good day because our God is good …our God who gives us breath.

So let’s breathe deep today living in the grace of God. Let’s breathe deep today when things don’t go our way.  Let’s breathe deep as a way to stop and recognize God’s control in whatever situation we’re in.  Let’s breathe deep and be still… knowing that He is God.

STOP.

So there it is… my 5-minute, unedited ramblings on the topic “Deep Breath.”

Hope it’s a wonderful Friday for all of you!
