I absolutely LOVE First Trinity’s theme for our worship services this season: Hope Restored. As the season started, I wanted to blog about this throughout the season but remembered that I already did a series of 31 Days of Hope before and was trying to think of something a little different. SOOO, I asked some of my friends and family members to help out and simply share Bible verses that bring them hope and why or a story of God restoring hope in their lives. Over the next 2 weeks leading up to Christmas, in addition to a few posts from me, I pray this will be a place where you can find some encoruagement and restored hope. I know that the holiday times are busy so many of these posts will be simple and short… just enough to pause and remember who God is and the hope He brings during this season.
To kick us off, here is a verse shared by Debbie V., a member at First Trinity where I work in Tonawanda, NY.
“Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
She shares that this verse brings her hope because it “helps me to let go & relax a little.”
How does this verse remind you of hope today?
I find the first two words an awesome reminder to be quiet and “be still” listening for God’s word to enter my mind and heart.
